Purdue University Press announced on Mar. 23 the upcoming publication of “Building Your Epic Life: Your Journey, Your Way, Your Masterpiece,” authored by Luciano Castillo. The book is scheduled for release on Dec. 15, 2025.

The new title aims to help young people understand that setbacks are a necessary part of achieving success. According to the publisher, the author shares his own experiences with challenges and failures to show that progress is rarely straightforward.

“Building Your Epic Life” focuses on developing a healthy body, mind, and spirit through actionable exercises and practical steps designed to help readers define their own purpose and vision. The book includes guidance on mentorship as well as recommendations for books, affirmations, and daily routines intended for both students and professionals seeking personal development.

Luciano Castillo is the Kenninger Professor of Renewable Energy and Power Systems in Purdue University’s School of Mechanical Engineering. His research centers around wind energy dynamics, renewable integration with water and thermal storage systems, as well as modeling turbulent boundary layers. Castillo has received recognition such as the College of Engineering’s Dean H.T. Yang Faculty Excellence Award for Leadership in Service and holds fellowships in both the American Physical Society and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

The announcement is part of Purdue Today’s weekly “In Print” series highlighting faculty scholarship across various disciplines.
