31 percent of applicants to Purdue University Northwest were admitted for fall 2018

At Purdue University Northwest, 74 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Hammond enrolled 10,473 students in fall 2018, including 9,573 in undergraduate and 900 in graduate programs, data shows. 7.7 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

91 percent of undergraduates are residents of Indiana, and 9 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (61 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (20 percent).

The school admitted 31 percent of the 4,849 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 78 percent enrolled.
