58 percent of applicants to Purdue University-Main Campus were admitted for fall 2018

At Purdue University-Main Campus, 96 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in West Lafayette enrolled 44,474 students in fall 2018, including 33,735 in undergraduate and 10,739 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

52 percent of undergraduates are residents of Indiana, and 37 percent are residents of other states. 9 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (64 percent) and Asian (9 percent).

The school admitted 58 percent of the 53,722 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 27 percent enrolled.
