INDOT Teal Road Reconstruction

203

City of Lafayette, IN recently issued the following announcement.

INDOT Teal Road Reconstruction

The U.S. 52/Teal Road reconstruction project is approximately three miles in length. The western end of the project will start just west of Old Romney Road on State Road 25 (locally known as West Teal), going east to Old U.S. 231, proceeding north on Old U.S. 231 to the 4th Street/ Poland Hill Road intersection, and continuing east on U.S. 52/Teal Road terminating between Brothers Drive and South 30th Street, all located in Lafayette.

The project will partially reconstruct Teal Road along with other improvements such as storm sewers and new or reconstructed sidewalks and curbs where necessary. Also improved turning movements at the intersecting roadways at Old U.S. 231, Elston Road, Crestview Place, Edgelea Drive, and 26th Street along with improving the access and exit to Teal Road. The intersection of 4th Street/Poland Hill Road and U.S. 52 will be improved by removing the splitter islands, adjusting the alignment, and placement of a new storm sewer at the intersection.

Rieth-Riley Construction was awarded this $15.6 million contract. This project is scheduled to be completed by September 30, 2024.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
