Wellness Wednesdays

When: Wed, January 18, 10:30am – 11:00am

Where: 2nd Floor Gipe Hall Library

Description: 30 minute sessions offered at 10:30 and 2:30pm each Wednesday until Spring Break!

Wellness Wednesday is a brief, drop-in group designed togenerate discussion amongst peers on subjects related to mental health.  The discussion will provide a space ofcompassion, awareness, non-judgment, and curiosity. Some skills will be taughtin this group, which are generally drawn from mindfulness and trauma symptommanagement practices.  These skills are beneficialfor our general emotional well-being as well for helping to manage distressrelated to depression, anxiety, trauma, and other experiences.  Each week will focus on a different topic.Come to all eight sessions, come to one, or pick and choose depending on yourschedule.   Topics covered include anoverview of common mental health diagnosis, breaking the stigma of mentalhealth, healthy boundaries, coping with family challenges, self-esteem, andcoping skills.
